Before the cross the devil had a legal right to accuse man according to the law.
But thanks be to God we now have VICTORY by what Jesus did at the Cross..
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances (law) that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Jesus removed the law which made us guilty !! The devil has NOTHING left to accuse us with.
As Christians we need to understand and live our life on this side of the Cross...and be partakers of the new and better covenant.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he (Jesus) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he (Jesus) is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

The Mercy of God
Mercy is an act of God on our behalf and like Grace it is completely unmerited and undeserved.
Mercy is revealed to us by grace and apart from grace we will never understand the Mercy of God.
Simply defined Mercy is God's willingness to bring undeserving change.
Hebrews 8:12 God say's "I WILL be merciful to their unrighteousness,and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
It is and has always been God's WILL to be merciful, it is His mercy that He will not remember our sins.
God does not want to judge us according to what we deserve He does not want to bring justice, but is always willing to bring mercy!
Romans 2:25 the word propitiation is the same Greek word as mercy seat found in Hebrews 9:5; Propitiation means an appeasement or the satisfying
of wrath. God's anger has been satisfied in and through Jesus at the cross, we can now come to Him with no fear of judgment.
Hebrews 4:16 say's it like this; Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
God wants to show us MERCY !
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
God's will is that His goodness and mercy follow you not judgment and condemnation !
